How to change the app's language, contrast and colour vision
Language, Contrast and Colour vision are settings of the app, not of a project, so they follow you from project to project. Each is a choice among a few named options and takes effect when you press it; there is no Apply.
Open the settings
Section titled “Open the settings”- Press the gear in the app bar. The Settings dialog opens.
- On the General page, find the row you want: Language, Contrast or Colour vision. Settings, accessibility and updates controls shows where each row sits.
Change the language
Section titled “Change the language”- In Language, press the language you want. Each language is listed under its own name, so you can find yours even when the app is showing one you cannot read.
- To follow the operating system instead, press System, which the app shows followed by the language it currently resolves to, in brackets.
Every menu, dialog, message and tip changes. A project’s own text and languages are untouched; to change those, see How to add, switch off or change a project’s languages.
Raise the contrast
Section titled “Raise the contrast”In Contrast, press More. Press Standard to go back.
Text becomes firmer and controls gain edges you can find; the colours and layout stay the same. Settings has the full list.
Contrast is separate from the theme, so you can have dark and firmer at once.
Recolour the app for a kind of colour blindness
Section titled “Recolour the app for a kind of colour blindness”In Colour vision, press the mode that matches yours:
- Protan: protanopia and protanomaly.
- Deutan: deuteranopia and deuteranomaly.
- Tritan: tritanopia and tritanomaly.
Press Off to return to the house colours.
The app’s category colours change to a palette you can tell apart; Settings lists what each mode recolours. A few places still tell categories apart by hue alone; see What the accessibility settings do and do not claim.
Change the text size
Section titled “Change the text size”Text size is set in your operating system, not in the app. For why the cards on a board do not follow it, see Text size: the chrome follows, the cards do not.
Related
Section titled “Related”- Settings, accessibility and updates controls: every option on the dialog.
- What the accessibility settings do and do not claim: the limits of the colour-vision palettes.
- How to add, switch off or change a project’s languages: the languages of the project’s own text.
