How to report a bug

  1. Open Settings ▸ Support, or choose Support and feedback in the Help menu.

  2. Choose Report a bug. The bug form opens in the public support repository, ripple_effect_support, with the version, your operating system and which installer this copy came from already answered, along with the technical details.

  3. Describe what you saw in the form.

  4. Under What to attach, choose Save this session as a zip. The log and reports of the session are packed into one file, and the folder it was written to opens. The row names the session by its id, so a support thread can be about the right run.

  5. Attach the zip to the issue before you submit it.

  • Help ▸ Troubleshooting copies the package details (which build this is and how it was installed) and the device details (the operating system), and opens this session’s folder. Show every tip again is in the Help menu itself. The Troubleshooting items and Show every tip again are in the command palette too; see the workspace window, menus and palette.
  • Ask a question opens GitHub Discussions, Request a feature opens a new issue tagged as an enhancement, and Browse open issues lists the known problems, so you can check whether yours is already there.
